If you don't like these, just do a search in Google. First a word of caution: You don't want to start out with a complex template. If this is your first website, pick something simple.
The better you knowledge of HTML, the better you will be
able to utilize templates.
TIP: Make sure you read all the fine print. Some freebies require a link back to the designer!
You will need an HTML editor such as Dreamweaver or
FrontPage or you will need to use software that allows you
to build your site quickly and easily. My best
recommendations are
Marketing Dashboard and
xsitepro. Both of these give you all the tools you
need to build your site as well as an easy way to insert all
the function you need. If you want to be a webmaster,
pick up Dreamweaver or Frontpage. If you want to build
several sites quick and easy, pick up Dashboard or XSite.
DESIGN MISTAKES: Make sure your web design does not
